The new trim has less cells. It’s the same car, even if they change what’s in it ....... every car maker does this.
My car is a Volvo T5. It probably could have been a 2.5T, but it’s not. That’s called trim.


Also,This has been the plan..... demand for the high trims is lowering, so they shift onto the next trim down. This has been Tesla’s routine since the beginning of the company.

When you can streamline and afford to make more of a product for less, then you can lower the pricing on that product because it cost you less to make it.

The systems and parts used become repetitive, you ink out supplier deals which lower your expenses because you purchased in bulk.

And as other elements of manufacture smooth out, down times, delays etc. etc...Cost go down.

Demand was already there, is there. Tesla is just starting to make the supply.
