Hi SC, Yes, the stock market is looking pretty shaky at the moment. I see the futures are down again, but will see what happens in the morning. The charts are looking like they did in late January during that big 3000 point drop. Do you still have that HDGE position? I see it's up about 10% over the past several weeks.

Hope you made it thru the recent hurricane and storms OK. We miss you around here :o)

SC, This latest hurricane is a doozy, though looks like you dodged the worst of it. The previous one left the Carolinas reeling, and to add to the other problems is/was a mosquito nightmare from all the standing water. Hope you are getting thru it OK. Not much effect here in the N East but some rain.

Mosquitoes from hell -

We're starting to see some of the big Asian Tiger mosquitoes up here, which have the striped abdomen and can carry an assortment of viral diseases -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aedes_albopictus

>>> This mosquito has become a significant pest in many communities because it closely associates with humans (rather than living in wetlands), and typically flies and feeds in the daytime in addition to at dusk and dawn. The insect is called a tiger mosquito for its striped appearance, which resembles that of the tiger. Ae. albopictus is an epidemiologically important vector for the transmission of many viral pathogens, including the yellow fever virus, dengue fever, and Chikungunya fever,[2] as well as several filarial nematodes such as Dirofilaria immitis.[3] Aedes albopictus is capable of hosting the Zika virus[4][5] and is considered a potential vector for Zika transmission among humans. <<<

SC: How did things fare for you with these two hurricanes? Our good friends in Beaufort, SC dodged a bullet. They're right down the street from a salt water tide pool. A big storm surge would have flooded them but thankfully it didn't happen. Our North Carolina relatives in Greensboro are currently without power for 2 days as I write this. In Austin we're wetter than usual lately. Makes up for the summer drought which was severe. Just biding my time with regard to the markets. I don't trust the long side at all, yet I've been premature going short and it has cost me about $50 K.
