I agree, but if its one night a week/month for a short period, its more of a positive than a negative imo... It wouldn't be wise to do it every day.

FYI, the Switch is portable and you can compete with others easily/wirelessly. Its not like having game consoles, controllers and TVs setup everywhere.

The point was more about Nintendo having a desire to do business with Snakes, because Snakes is able to pack large places with targetted customers (gamers), along with the ability to sell product at retail, on the spot.

I see Snakes as a future marketing powerhouse... which means their own titles have a higher odds of being noticed and gaining market share.

1000 customer per day through 4 locations is a lot of TARGETTED customers. If they run promos to move RETAIL copies (higher markup than wholesale) and are able to sell 3% of customers, thats 10,950 copies sold per year. At a higher price than wholesale, with a VERY strong margin because they are the publisher (cut out middleman).

If every 4 locations can sell 10,000+ copies, thats a solid boost to retail sales... and i think its possible if they offer a promotion where a part of the cover charge can be applied to a self published title, if the customer buys before leaving.

With a half dozen titles coming, there is an even greater chance that they will have a title that appeals to each type of customer... and who knows how many other titles Snakes will come out with. They are following several games in development. They are in the perfect situation to SELECT titles, using their very skilled staff/customers to ensure its a good one.

Nintendo has what they call “Nintendo Directs” in which they present the public with the future games for their systems and what not.

In the one of the last Nintendo Directs, they (Nintendo) announced that one company was going to bring board games to the Switch. I believe they mentioned Catan amongst others.

I commented on this as well, you can look up what I said. So I wouldn’t be too quick to judge that video games and board games can not work hand in hand with one another...

In fact, with that announcement, Snakes&Lattes is now in a MUCH better position to work with Nintendo than before.

Imagine this:

They bring Catan to the Switch, a Catan event can be held at participating Snakes&Lattes in which players can bring their Switch AND play the board game with other players.

And now that they opened the door to bring boardgames into video games, it is more possible for S&L to license one of their own games ...if it becomes successful enough.
