ORBAPU, "Thinking, Fast and Slow" is an outstanding book! I was given it as a gift by the attorneys who worked for me when I left that organization. They told me I thought like an attorney, which I took as a compliment.

For those unfamiliar with the author, Daniel Kahnemann, he won the Nobel in Economics in 2002 despite not being an economist--he's a behavioral scientist, and with his long-time colleague Amos Tversky (who died in 1999, I think it was) undertook ground-breaking analysis about how we make decisions, and why sometimes we make significant errors in our logic leading us to wrong conclusions.

Reading the book clarified how to think better, for me. Stepping back from assumptions, listening to the data and not jumping to immediate conclusions. There's a biological basis for jumping to conclusions, and often it's a great tool, but awareness of it is useful in avoiding errors in analysis in solving challenging problems.

Great, great book.

Didn’t realize Thinking Fast was written by Kahneman. Thanks for the recommendation I’ll be putting it on my list.
