This happened to me.
WAMU somehow paid taxes on the wrong property twice! While I owned this property, it was mortgaged to a local lender. I sued them in federal court, but curiously, the judge found that I was not harmed!
Fast forward to 2008-2009, JPMC now claimed they owned the loan.
This pushed me into foreclosure, again claiming they owned the loan and so I declared bankruptcy to keep them at bay. I was not behind on anything except the WAMU loan.
JPMC tried to kick me out of BK, so I offered to buy them out. I had recently closed a large property sale and JPMC got $100k.
