KV. what little DHA there may be in Omegia Via EPA 500 would not justify a 40% jump in your LDL cholesterol.
( Theres probably more DHA in a Salmon you might eat for dinner then the OV EPA you would take that day )

Suggest you eliminate red meat from your diet ...replace with Salmon and chicken ...limit the number of eggs or slices of cheese you eat ....and then do another blood test .

You may need additional items included in the blood test, e.g., VLDL, LDL-C particle size and has-CRP to get a better fix on things. Lp-PLA2 wouldn't hurt either.

I was very careful to be off alcohol and my morning shakes.....

Got worse because of it, LOL?

Seriously though, OV500 would have to be breaking the law if those pills had enough DHA to raise your LDL-C by almost 40% - like 50:50 EPA/DHA, and your GI system would probably revolt from taking that much DHA/day. I have no idea what could have caused your LDL-C to go up that much, but you may want to investigate further - although that's not a particularly dangerous level, something may be going on with your liver, which makes something like 90% of the LDL-C circulating in your body at any given time.
