OT Bill, this is great news about Carol's surgery; my (our) prayers continue to be with her, you, and the family.

I can certainly agree, with great conviction, with your comments about the tremendous support of this internet community which assembles around the discussion of IDCC. There may be dissension as in any family, but the support for one of their own is without peer.

bill......my mom went through breast cancer, starting 5 years ago, and she is doing very well......my mom's HER2 was positive, but she had no nodes infected, so radiation was not required, but she did have chemo

Then will come aggressive chemotherapy (to knock out any loose cancer cells that may be floating around her body) and specific radiation in the primary breast cancer area.

i'm presuming your wife's HER2 reading was a determiner in whether chemo was necessary, and i hope that the limph nodes removed in surgery, all came up negative......GOD be, and is with you, and may an abundance of understanding and strength overwhelm you
