I work for a place that uses Pershing as the custodian. The only time that ever happens here is when the position is bought in cash (type 1) and also bought in margin (type 2). If you have margin on your account I would suspect that is what happened.

It has happened to me also with nwbo and some other securities even on Schwab over last 1-2 yrs. eventually after some days they get merged into one . I won’t read too much into it

Yes This happen to me also when I called them up and told them to cancel my margin acct. The next time I purchased shares it created an additional entry in my acct for my NWBO shares.

I was going to call them on this but haven't yet.

I also wonder how many shares I voted for last week. Did it include both entries? I didn't take the time to look it up !


I'm wondering if they moved my initial shares into a cash acct and the other shares in a margin acct.

My account under Schwab shows "NWBO (2 stocks)" and lists shares under two NWBO headings. I can tell from the share amounts that the first listing is for shares I bought way back when the company was still listed, and the other heading is for shares bought OTC. At least that's my interpretation, but it doesn't sound like this applies to your situation.
