So the answer in other words is: Prior to the receipt of the manufacturing license they drafted a press release announcing both the actual receipt of the cultivation license and the expected receipt of the manufacturing license. They received the manufacturing license and announced that in a Form 8-K. Two weeks later they received the cultivation license and issued the press release that they had drafted two weeks earlier (that promised to provide an update on an unissued manufacturing license) without reading it first because they were too busy.

The current PR (and previous PRs) closes with "Contact: Valerie Baugher @ info@sunsetislandgroup.com or @ 424-239-6230" (Sunset's #). Perhaps the person who responded to your email was referring to the news distribution company, GlobeNewswire, which is definitely not a PR firm. Does GlobeNewswire make it their practice to hold onto a client prepared draft release for two weeks, a period during which they distributed over 9,000 releases, until they are asked to distribute it and then do so by simply putting a new date on top?
We both know that stuff happens. "It was a simple error of not going back and having them fix the wording" MAY approximate the true explanation, but if it is it isn't a very good one....management has a responsibility to be a lot more careful than that. And as it stands the public outside of the Ihub SIGO message board still has Sunset's promise to "update you all once we have received the approved manufacturing license and the distribution permits" as the most recent public information provided by the company. Of course, potential investors who are curious enough to check the State's list of issued Manufacturing Licenses will see that a license has in fact been issued....if they know to look under VBF Brands, Inc. (but that's another story.)
