Many retail investors will invest where they think their money is going to make a difference. Given many choices in high risk micro Bio stocks the retailers will do their DD and decide what makes sense. It's complicated.

You do realize that when you buy stock the money does not go to the company.

If you buy shares via a PIPE or something similar then the money goes to the company, otherwise you are buying shares from some other shareholder.
