emsco -- 1)You're forgetting the market created if cities, counties, and states require this type of app be installed prior to car registration. In addition, all buses, schools or otherwise, and "all" government owned vehicles.
2) Enterprise can simply offer a rental discount to anyone who will download app while they're renting the car.
3) This app will track if someone has turned the system off. You say a rental car driver will guarantee they will not use phone by turning it off? What a joke. They will just turn it on 1 minute after leaving the office.

I do not know about the other apps like sync3 and mykey, but I agree with:
1) Fleet sales is the target for Enterprise and other organization. Companies will want it because of liability.
2) The consumer market is more for the parent/teenage driving segment. You know that the adults won't buy it unless they can link it to the insurance or some other money saving opportunity.

If you have been following this and reading what is going on then you would understand why it will be to these company's advantage to have it.

The BMW meeting for example was that they wanted ONCI to do certain modifications to the app to fit their needs. Ford will do the same, they will want it to link to sync...as will GM with their system

Its a parental issue, the parents will have the control not the kids. The modifications will ensure that the kid is not in charge of turning it on and off. Currently Sync is only able to be run from with in the vehicle not from a phone app.

Think outside the box on what Steve is doing.. dont look at a product and think its out there already and can not be improved on. We are TEAMING with these company's not replacing what they have. Hence the reason why Chrysler gave us 60 days to modify the app after the first meeting.
