LED light are much better than Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium cause:
1. Far less energy used for the same light intensity.
2. They run much cooler so you don't need 10 fans going like I have now and it's better for the plants not to be heat stressed.
3. the UV lights help kill any plant diseases like powdery mildew which I learned is a real bear to deal with.
4. And the new LED lights have a more full light spectrum, some have dimmer controls to control the balance of blue, white, and red light so you can use the same light and adjust the light for blue when in veggy state, and red for when you cut the light back to 12 hours a day to trigger flowering
