Crash, as I recall didn't some Boeing engineers come down to Palmdale last Fall and provide some expertise re the lifting gas technology to Sanswire re the strat?

The contract awarded today was for a specific section of the border, not the entire border, does not rule out new technologies, must be renewed, and the government indicates that it will be flexible and use what works, i.e. the technologies are not set in stone and can change.

Also to note. One reason why I don't particularly care to hear anything coming from Sanswire on an update -- is because I understand that if Sanswire shows definitive proof that the concept is feasible to the public, then Lockheed Martin can turn that advancement around on Sanswire and use it as an example to Congress as to why THEY too should receive more or continued funding.

I mean hey. Let's be practical here. There is competition, is there not? And having observed how Lockheed's ripped buzzwords and marketing phrases, and in some cases conceptual orientation in copy directly from Sanswire over the last couple years - I'd say it's safe to suggest Lockheed would use such news against Sanswire all the same in an effort to benefit themselves.

The only thing Congress wants to hear is that it's feasible. If they're shown proof of feasibility - that's when they sign the check. So why give the competition a blank check when they did nothing to deserve it?

crash,

"The Boeing win places us on better ground regarding the airship."

Are you saying you think that Boeing was going to use Lockheeds HAA?

"Knowing this then, it is reasonable to suggest - that Lockheed's HAA may or may not survive the funding cuts and depending on whether or not ISIS specifically is cut."

Indecision may or may not be a problem here. LOL J/K

I agree the funding picture for Lockheeds program is murky.

but I'm not sure I follow your IF/THEN here:
"If DARPA/ISIS is cut, then that also places Northrop's initiatives - and their current partner Worldwide Aeros' initiative in jeopardy."

I understand Northrop may be assisting WWA but not from any specific govt. funding right?
