I think in NWBO speak, what you are also saying, and I could be wrong here is...
They perceive a press release as targeted at the world, and the 8K as a narrowcast direct to shareholders who all take these details very, very seriously. Were they to PR that, hey world, we're not going to be at x place next week, and did that regularly, it would not just seem weird, it might even be a bit awkward. But, an 8K gets the message out directly to their obsessed fans. They might use Twitter... But I can actually see that and was thinking it myself.
I do get Anders argument. It's not beyond possible either. But, the way I see it is, if a number of people of reasonably good intelligence can reasonably pose a variety of reasonable possibilities, all at odds with one another, then no one knows what the heck is going on.
But, it's all interesting and highly entertaining to contemplate. GLTA. :)
