HERE's The BIG PROBLEM with choice 2.

The ill will it would create with their best fans, customers. Just about everyone involved with this stock loves Seinfeld, and that this product was involved in a very popular episode of that show. WC might be hardcore investors, but they know that there is a lot more money to be made by spreading the wealth/risk.

WC has been around the OTC. They know that even a hint that they burned traders will come back to haunt them, something they'd never do in the first place, I think we should all agree on this.
