well, I dunno either. I guess the idea that precious metals investment, (coins in the hand) are a good form of insurance in a monetary collapse. the stock market sure isn't. last crash in 2008, our house in California collapsed in value by 50%. same thing will happen again.
farm land sounds nice, but they say most is overpriced now.

If one is owning metals, the miners offer leverage to make portfolio gains with smart trading,but that's never really easy to do.

Biotech stocks, act the same as miners, very volatile, manipulated by wall street games, and risky ventures. lucky to break even trading biotech ,just like miners.
I don't believe in the buy and hold idea myself. so I try to do a little swing trading here and there in the trading account,while holding a core.
