First we were flying into Charlotte from Seattle and the plane was landing when all of a sudden the pilot hit the throttle and we began to abort the landing. Another plane was taking too long to clear the air space.
Then last night we were 15 minutes from Chattanooga on the third leg of this trip when the pilot had to also inform us that the storm and lightening was preventing us from landing, so we first tried for Huntsville, Alabama, then Birmingham, but we had to abandon those plans and return to Charleston. The winds were bad, especially in a smaller type aircraft, by this time I put my head down and just wanted to land anyplace.
This morning the weather was much better and we made it back around 9:30 this morning, just a long day. But Charlotte Airport needs some work, Gate 38C needs some outlets for phone charging, and when you get back at almost 2am, and the airline tells you that weather decided to cancel your flight, you have no choice but to sit in the baggage area, and wait till the airport reopens the next morning. People just slept on the floor, I found an electrical outlet, charged the phones and sat in a chair that was extremely uncomfortable, but it was an adventure. Nice to be home, thanks for asking.
Grandchild and Mom doing well, Daddy working hard, but that is what you do.
