With all your knowledge and experience, you are unable to convince your doctor?! Change the darn doctor, he works for you, and not the other way around.

I'd ask very bluntly how much he makes from statin kickbacks.offer to take blood test to track progress. If he still refuses I'd walk out and get a new MD. A sad fact he needs patients and you have a choice to choose if gets to earn your loyalty.

STS; Vascepa is on label for the Marine ( TG's>500 ) indication at Kaiser in CA .
The co pay is / was $100

I'm a retired Union pipefitter; Copay is $10

JF has on off label script ...lucky for him he found someone at Kaiser willing to write him an off label script ( my Kaiser MD and Cardiologist have refused pending R-IT data )

Sometimes it comes together like a symphony and not like a train wreck;

Kaiser's off label alternative for long term arthritic pain relief is gabapentin. The intended use and potential side effects are enough for me to consider Vicodin or double handfuls of ibuprofin as viable (not really) alternatives. V's in their formulary, I got a young doc, it's my pocket, and I present well.

Ah, sorry 'bout that misunderstanding - I thought Kaiser didn't cover V for you, period, not that you couldn't get it off label - actually probably knew that, just forgot. However, my point about Kaiser not covering V in the state of MD is still true, on label or not.
