yea...the way they word it, it almost sounds like they are going to crossbreed ms worms with ds worms...but I think you are right..they are just talking about concepts..

again..if they are going to use ds for clothing and bullet proof vests and apparently everything in between, what is the purpose of ms?....or in several years will we be hearing how ms served its purpose and we chucked it into the garbage can?...

and taking into consideration that they are making all kinds of new lines of spider silk, some of which surpass the specs of ds, seriously, where does that leave ms?..

seems to me that if kim can produce something better than ds, and everything in between and he has decided to make clothing with ds, then ms has no particular use..

I agree. I didn't see that as saying as much about MS as it was saying the new fiber will be more elastic.

I wonder what has them stuck on pure spider silk/SpiderPillar. Es1, does it look like they are trying to correct your assertion?

Big Red was a stepping stone, and there is little reason to talk about it anymore, other than to understand what it taught them.

The statements on IP are intriguing.

"This effort has also succeeded in identifying allowable claims in all three pending US applications."

Denials we've seen may just be denial of fast track.

"New applications may be filed that have claims directed to nucleotide sequences, vectors, polypeptides, fibers, and transgenic silkworms, that have improved properties compared to those disclosed and claimed in the pending applications. ?"

I think they have to look at prior art maybe. They don't yet know existing art.

A hint to the additional location they are looking to produce? There is room for an unmentioned country.

"Strategies to amend and add new claims directed to commercially-relevant subject matter, supported by appropriate supplemental remarks, will be carried over to all of our other pending applications, including those filed in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Europe, India, Japan, South Korea, and Viet Nam."

Good information in this one. Not sure why there is early criticism.
