If you think litigation is the answer, go down to a novelty shop and buy a Mighty Mouse outfit and learn to fly. Put Karl and a young lawyer on your back and file lawsuits around the world and prove infringement.
You need to learn to hunt, fish and cook because you will need to eat while waiting for discovery schedules to wind up and trials actually begin to happen. You will be busy delivering documents identified in requests for production so tell your family you will see them in about 3 years for a few days before you begin the appeals process. You will be delivering briefs of all varieties for a year and a half or so and attending oral arguments during the appeals process. Out of necessity you will be seeking extensions because you have scheduling conflicts.
Finally, if you do not believe in world wide standards, do not join and try doing business without SEP's. By all means let us know how that works out for you. FRAND is a reality and all of the coulda's, woulda's and shoulda's will not make them go away.
