With deference to Loop's advice for us amateurs to stay out of the analysis of Samsung's contractural obligations, please allow me to warn of one other item. Nokia's negotiated cancellation of MFL rights and trigger mechanisms IN NO WAY cancels Samsungs rights to these provisions. Samsung negotiated and IDCC granted certain rights that were essentially identical to Nokia's. Just because Nokia later said "Ah, forget it" does not mean that Samsung also lost those rights. Nokia has no authority to speak for Samsung.

Now, I believe that is part of Samsung's argument and one which they are likely to win. Thus, as Loop says, let's not build our hopes too high here. There is a lot about these contracts that we don't know.
