IMO-The most important result of the Nok settlement was getting rid of triggered contracts and mfl clauses.Samsung is making a last gasp effort to hold on to mfl rights, but in the end all will be negotiated and a new era of structuring agreements will continue. I think that is what the nok/qcom showdown is all about and I would expect the end result will be a more creative approach to licensing ipr.IDCC is no longer in the "if" camp regarding its technology and the need of all 3g players to pay for the use of their ipr.The only questions are when and how much and as the industry continues to consolidate, we will see more creative ways to license the existing technology and utilize an on-going relationship of enhancing and advising.Once Sammy is behind us, I believe we will be in play. The landscape is changing and we got rid of the albatross(NOK)that prevented any flexibilty in structuring agreements. The old days are gone forever, whether qcom acknowledges this or not. I expect that a nimble company with our patent portfolio and no requirements for a chip will offer many great opportunities going forward to structure these new type of arrangements. GLTAL
