This sure sounds like how GM used to operate in the 70s

They made cars that barely last one year. The most profitable division was AC Delco which sell parts.

Wonder how that all worked out.

That's the point - look around. iPhones are being held long-term. A lot of banged up iPhones out there that people are holding on to as long as they can. It's relevant and irrelevant. if they make them right there could be a massive turnover on old iPhones but there's no longer a Steve Jobs to sell it that there's nothing better than this "newest iPhone."
