#174593 RE: rocketeer357 #174582

how's your analysis of the Beltran/Granderson contracts holding up these days. lol?

Well year 1 slight edge granderson, Year 2 massive win by granderson, year 3 massive win by carlos beltran.

I've said it before: 2015 was an exceptional year for the Mets. Not much didn't fall into place for them, TC's management notwithstanding. Expecting the magic 2 seasons in a row was always going to lead to a lot of ifs, except fors and buts.

As I continue to say yes they got red hot the last two months, I'm not denying that by the way, but they were suppose to be a 90-95 win team, remember that team the last two months was a 105 win team pace, that is a different animal.

This team has had thing happen two it. 1) Harvey had a big season last year this year he is on the dl. 2) Wright the last two months was very helpful he has been on the dl all year. 3) Cespedes who lets face it is the reason why they went down hill when he went on the dl, even before because for about 3 weeks he used very sparingly before they finally put him on the dl. And that was the start they really could survive him being out. 4) Duda who has hit almost 60 Homers the last two year has been on the dl all year.

Add in the fact that my three underachievers of granderson has had very disappointing year, conforto who was suppose to a big time prospect came up and hit and now is completely lost and litterally in the minors. And D'arnuad has been very disappointing with the bat. We knew his glove wasn't great but look at his numbers last year and tell me they haven't fallen off a cliff. Add in the fact that team has been and unmitigated disaster with risp all season bordering on horrifcic, I mean they were in places where the last team to do it was the 1969 padres on that front. I mean Granderson for example has 40 XBH only 1 of those are with risp, I don't even think D'arnuad has and XBH with risp all season.

Keep in Mind where we were supposed to be upgraded this year was at SS in Cabrera and guess what he has been on the dl as well.

I don't think them going on a wc run is very optimistic at all because I'm a believer of none of these team (The mets have by far the best pitching of them and it ain't even close). It is all in front of the mets, the mets have one of the easiest schedule the rest of the way in all of baseball, and it sounds like they may get both cespdes and cabrera in the next week. Are they WS bound, probably not even if they make the playoffs, they certainly will be the worst team there, but they are the only WC team that in my opinion that could win that 2nd wildcard that could be dangerous, because they have the pitching to be scary, when it is going well. That is the problem with the pirates the caridnals, and the marlins outside of Jose fernandez there pitching is very weak in my opinion, and That is why I remain confident they will make it as a 2nd wildcard if they get cespedes back healthy this week.
