I gotta say I don't even care about the naked shorts any more. Let them off the hook if you have to, just do whatever it takes to get the share price where it should be. If someone is doing something illegal that they can get away with indefinitely, they aren't going to stop just because L gets approved or the collaborations are officially announced. The legal shorts should start to taper but the illegals will just keep selling phantom shares. If they are their own broker/dealer why would they say, ok, now I should cover? They can just keep doing it forever, there is no oversight by regulators. Hopefully Cofer Black can do something about it but I don't care any more if all they can do is get them to go away without justice.
