External HD backup . . .

I bought an external hd...and plugged it in a while back. I don't know how to back up.

It can be fairly simple and does not take much time...

I think that automatic Backups are too hard to use to restore individual folders and files.
There end up being too many folders in the Backup to search through, when all you want to do is restore a particular one.

I find that just copying my entire Documents folder then pasting it to the external HD does the job...
Or just copy/paste individual important folders or files that are contained within the Documents folder.
You can do this copy/paste deal with any "important" folder that is on your Local Disc.

A System Image can be easily made using the tools that Windows provides.
It is used to "Restore" your machine if you are ever forced to re-install Windows operating System.

A System image is an exact copy of your machine's operating system including all your personal settings and all folders...
I can be used to restore your machine completely, back to the way is was when the System Image was made...it contains EVERYTHING.

I hope the two pictures explain how to easily create Backups and System Images on an external hard drive...
