WarpCore61, Intense pressure, both physical and mental, can cause real havoc to people not geared to handle stress. Normally, people that have never had "front line" accountability have a more difficult time adjusting to pressures of timelines etc. Bob Jones came from NASA, where there can be a lot of slippage to timelines(layers of management buffering)and the personal pressure was not as prevelant as he must be experiencing with the SansII project. He is highly qualified, but I, like you, am concerned about the state of preceived emotion displayed at the SHM. Maybe your idea for a break for the team is a good suggestion. We have to remember that the FOCUS on GTE at this time is all about SansII completion. Too much stress causes errors and failures. They have been "Inventing" a first ever technology where all the untried pieces have to work flawlessly. Pressure must be immense. Even though you could say "that's what they are being paid for", human endurance for everyone in different. Just hope he is not in danger physically during this time. It's the long period of time he/they have been under constant pressure to deliver that is really the issue. Just my opinion.
