These are DEFENSE cases - Granville and YIPI are DEFENDANTS and these are also business litigations - they are not done on contingency - even by part-time solos.
There is NO CHANCE of recovery by Granville in the Hannover case, he has made mo counterclaims nor can he make meaningful ones - he and YIPI owe $650,000 in unpaid debt notes.
In the defamation case, Granville is going to get his clock cleaned. His statements are indefensible and cannot be backed up. He claims he'll "burn your family down" and that bribes and naked short sales were done - neither of which he has a chance in hell of PROVING, and he certainly has zero chance of getting attorney fees awarded as that is, on its face, a legitimate legal case against him.
Nope, Little Richard and YIPI will have to pay the legal fees and COSTS ~OUTT of their own and shareholder pockets. Retainer and monthly invoices. OUCH!!!
TWO cases against him!!! DOUBLE OUCH!!!
And they will be bled white in a matter of several months. Even cheaping ~OUTT and using a part-time solo lawyer, who is already being called on the telecon carpet by the judge at the suggestion of the court clerk because he hasn't produced a thing in discovery and depos are scheduled for September.
Granville and YIPI are SCREWED.
What's funniest is that Granville's counterclaims are based on press releases from Linda Black, a Georgia resident that the NY state courts have zero jurisdiction over - and the part-time solo didn't even allege that the NY state courts have jurisdiction over her (as he NEEDS to, legally) in his Answer and counterclaim.
Granville is FRICKED. And so are YIPI shareholders. Look, I despise Magna and Sason as scummy toxic financiers. Butt that is irrelevant to their claims against Granville and YIPI which look pretty damned meritorious based on the pleadings from both parties and Granville's non-production in discovery.
Wait for the docket notes from the teleconference. Those will be quite a hoot.
