re: fabled PR, all of us on the board at that time felt the number with overly exuberant.
keep in mind, the banks were also trying to sell Mark on the idea,
so inflating numbers to Mark might have been part of their sales pitch.
requiting the numbers in a stock PR
without rationally vetting them
would be Mark's mistake, not the banks.
that said, Mark has owned that mistake already.

but keep in mind that Locsmandi directed the film
so it's his baby...
re: how long, Avatar was in post for a decade...
WS is not Avatar, but also being implemented by a much smaller FX team.
