With coal being the largest energy producer across the world it is clear to me that a winning technology of the future will save the existing capital infrastructure and allow that spent capital to be recaptured. The real win - win occurs with Mantra in that the solving solution is extremely economically viable to stand on its own and will be used on all new capital expenditures. The ERC (Effective Economic Use of CO2) and the MRFC (Creating reliable efficient energy) are the best future technologies I know of. The future future is still there.
Have you looked at the US DOE grant Alstom won for a limestone fluidized bed Coal fired power plant demo recently, that produces concentrated clean CO2 and captures the toxic metals like mercury and the SOx sulfur (acid rain) into the limestone which is recycled in the coal combustion system? It is far more efficient than any other old coal or clean coal technology and Alstom just recently was awarded the grant for US DOE pilot plant.
Any bets that Alstom plans to use the MVTG ERC as an add on for that process???
