Apparently other more harmful pollutants in the flue gas were simply returned to the stack and released into the atmosphere by AEP? CO2 is not a 'pollutant' harmful to humans, but too much of it can create weather changed (in theory).
Too bad this wasn't a pilot to remove all pollutants from coal fired power plants. They alone are said to be the source of 30% of the worlds pollutants. I would like to see a system that could convert the unwanted co2 (using ERC and stationary fuel cells) into enough electricity to pay the full cost of removal of all fossil fuel fired pollutants. That could free up a 1000+ years of known fossil fuel reserves and change the political and economic stigma now attached to those reserves and facilities.
Please help save the earth. It's our only source of chocolate.
