The confederate flag stands for hangings, beatings, separating families, no money, and even worse abuses... .. The US Flag, is FOR ALL of our country ... the cflag people put their fist up in the face of our Flag, and didn't want to be a part of the entire country anymore ...really they sound just like the teabaggers of today.

Now, to be clear what on earth is wrong with that flag being a part of our history but not in your face part of it? It still hurts people and quite frankly you're the the nicest/smartest guy I've even seen defend it . .;) .........I'm sure that If I was born and living there at that time .. who knows? .. I can't imagine it, I just can't . .but who really knows? Self Interest and money win out way too much of the time.

You honor the flag for one thing .. a majority of others honor that cflag because it stands for white supremacy. If you disagree . .make your case. I'd love to hear how it was for something other than money for yours and nothing for them.... all because you could, buy and sell a human being.

hookrider, Professor Joseph Brown .. http://cola.siu.edu/africanastudies/faculty-staff/faculty/jbrown.php .. wow, was just interviewed by someone on Australian ABC .. he was holding his cell phone so it was instant video of him .. he was asked why he thought the move against confederate symbols had all of a sudden taken on such urgency, and he said, 'because of young people, social media, "because of you"' .. the you being the interviewer .. wish you could have seen it as he put all the arguments you have seen for getting rid of all symbols, even street names, for what he said was such a dishonorable past .. hope it might get to youtube so all may see it ..
