Not so.

When your shares are held in STREET NAME only your broker knows the number of shares you held on a certain (or any date for that matter).

You can only vote thru your broker as a single investor has np proof they hold any shares.


Only way around this is if you had PULLED YOUR CERTS.

Which then the transfer agent knows how many shares you hold.

Every share holder that is invested thru Scottrade is lumped into a single share count that Scottrade as the broker knows whom holds what.

Sorry your wrong Jerry.

The only count would be your broker knowing how you voted. The company see's how many shares the broker has.
Unless you pay to have the actual certs delivered to you. Then good luck selling anytime soon.
Put them in your safety deposit box like people used to in the days of Scrooge. Are you Scrooge?
