The hardware is nothing. Neurosky has a single probe headset on your forehead that picks up brain activity data and dumps it to a software program via bluetooth communication. Its the software that needs to translate this brain activity data into a meaningful language. Having a patent on the hardware is just a convenience factor for the size of the device. It still does not prove that one can control/navigate/write text messages via brain activity data captured by the hardware and sent to the software program. Whoever develops the software program with the algorithms will have the real billion dollar patent. Any tom/dick/harry hardware engineer can come up with a hardware device that picks up brain activity. What you do with the data is the key to all this amazing technology. As Cassie once said to me "its all in the software dummy".
