Why are the pop ups so bad today. They've never interfered with posting, but today they pop up in the middle of a post and cover 75% of the page! Between that and No level 2, I'm Going crazy, wish there was another game in town. Hate paying for this mess.

So you got word it was a cut cable? Now no cable was cut? As an I.T guy for a while myself , that repair takes about 1-4 hours max.

Clearly there is a remote secondary modem used in case of power outages , disasters , ect

I'm kinda happy I canceled my pay service here. Seems like a bit of a an issue. An hour here or there is bad enough in a field that relies on it for high stakes.

But losing a 2 whole days in under 12 months could cost some 100+k and there is no compensation to clients. Not good

Thanks Dave, being in the construction business myself I would not want to have been the company responsible for such an incident as many times insurance companies will not insure a construction company for fiber optics as they are too costly to repair. This company may no longer be in business. OUCH!

Which is it?

Fibers are critical components of telecommunications network and when one is down they have all priority because of all the data flowing through.
Networks usually are fined for the time loss as a result of revenue loss to businesses.

So it would be expected ADVFN customers be reimbursed for time lost.

UPDATE #3: Latest report is that the cable cut occurred in the middle of a large construction site

Some of the best guys in the world can repair a single strand of fiber in 4 and a half minutes. Depending on the fiber count, multiply that and add an hour or so for breaks and repairing missplicing and you'll have your eta

How about fixing the pop-ups issue while we're down..... it's frustrating enough when 1 service that you pay for doesn't work....but when some of us pay for premium accounts and we have pop-ups blocking our androids every 10-20 secs...... play candy blast mania...or Gummy Drop????? Seriously..... WTF? ...... I'm hoping you guys put on your big boy pants here soon and fix this stuff..... I can only imagine the amount of customers you guys will lose to your competitors from this. ... myself included.

Why isn't Level3's network traffic instantly routed to other servers on a "shut-down" so that traffic is not interrupted? After all, this is the "Inter-net"! :/
The internet was created so that communication could not be shut down in the event of nuclear war! :)

1.) Will the historical PPS data (Open, High, Low, Close, Volume) for tickers be updated for March 26th and 27th or has that information been lost forever? Be nice to see that restored and brought back up to date.

2.) What's the chances of me getting a free one months trail subscription to Small Cap PRO with a one month's paid subscription for that service. I might just like it enough to keep it :-)
