Yost stayed with his starter one hitter too long.
Although Madison Bumgartner did close the door.

The ROYALS have nothing to apologize for - a WC team that went all the way to the WS' 7th game...maybe the YANKEES can pick off some of their talent. ;)

Nope I rate a team based on Offense and Starting Pitching. I find that way more important then bullpen and defense. reason why the giants are superior is better starting pitching (Thanks to bumgardner) and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better hitting.

I never seen a team built to win anything, that the game plan is to get to the bullpen in the 4th and 5th inning. Never walk and never have any power. If that is the way to build a team, then count me out.

Because the way I know how to build a team

Decent middle of the order lineup
Ace Starting Pitching (with decent behind him)
And Good Closer

If you have those things you got a shot. You don't have to be the best team just ask the Giants, they were the third best team in the NL. WAS and LAD were clearly better thanks to run differential. Once again doesn't mean anything who gets hot at the time makes the run.

But Giants Had and ace the royals didn't, They both had good closers. and The giants had a decent middle of the order, and the royals don't. If they didn't have bumgardner I would give a slight edge to the royals. Because yes the defense is great on the royals and they have the best bullpen in baseball, and there starting pitching is decent.

But make no mistake the giants weren't the best team in the nl either as LAD and WAS were way better, but the wildcard once again strikes again. One seems to make run to NLCS or ALCS every year at the very leats in my opinion.

Trivia question

Here's the reason why I focused on Power. When was the last time a team won a WS without a guy who hit 20 homers

1982. And that team was 1rst in nl in OBP and and SB, 2nd IN ba and 2nd in walks. I even see substancial differences with that team and the royals.

The point is not trying to put the royals down it is to show you that is not the way a championship team is bulit. Now they almost won it, and lets face it if Bumgardner wasn't there they would of. It took him basically standing on his head type performance. But my point is great teams are not built like the royals.
