Thanks for digging into that. However, I don't believe we can accurately derive penalties by using these figures. Penalties are not payroll tax expenses and are not payroll taxes payable. Also, the payable amount includes state as well as federal and local liabilites. The expense totals only include the employers portion as the company can not book an expense for employee paid taxes. Your numbers may in fact be correct but we can't use the 2 account charts you pointed out to derive them.
