OD….yes...in most cases there are marks on the module itself
but it is typically integrated deep into the device/kiosk/car/sign/modem/router/medical product
buying hundreds of these products in the open market is a daunting task
and companies can change modules from one product line to another
An alleged infringing company has a right to be upset if they are using a module from an IDCC licensee.
yes…. seen it happen
it does tend to give the module buyer another check box in their procurement criteria…
indemnification against cellular patent litigation
so the practice can work…it just doesn't help with the "troll" perception…and even unlicensed suppliers will indemnify their customers…dealing with it later
