I've never been on board with the $500K per license theory. I guess it's possible but I'm looking at it from a different direction. I've been trying to estimate how many parts and the price per part (estimates were leaked) and I'm just hoping for 1-2% of that.

a) the company will be in the 100's of millions if GE does a contract with them so I wouldn't look at the price tag right now
b) might as well try the milk before you buy the cow type approach
c) nothing is guaranteed and I think that in their JTDE agreement I'm sure there is a clause around what patents they both have or share during their time developing this technology together and certain milestones that need to be hit. I think that if this goes well with the fuel nozzle it will make economical sense to buy out SGLB but I think they want to wait and see how things go in a production environment. It's a gamble really since they could buy them now at a lower price and nothing might come of it or they end up paying more but they see printrite 3d works. Atleast this is my opinion.

The 500k figure was for R&D time also I am sure. I would venture to guess that the commercialized pricing will be much different. At this point, we have no idea how much they will charge, and what the billing structure will be. They have talked about a "licensing" model, or a "per click charge" model. However, we still don't know what that means for numbers.

I believe we will find out soon though.
