the opportunity cost in time and effort in generating the income wasn't worth it. i've suggested wave may actually have lost money on its ERAS customisation work. this may explain the apparent loss of interest in selling it.
or instead it may have been a lack of demand for something so resistant to introduction.
solms likely thought it was a more commercially sensible use of wave's time to prepare the ground for the vsc 2.0 product.
let's assume the new product doesn't have the apparent dumb flaws of the previous one (too complex to fit an existing environment, so impossible to scale to new enterprises efficiently). maybe now we get to experience undeniable feedback from the demand side. and we can find out if the true variable with wave is the trusted hardware environment.
for myself, if it is trustworthy (which is a big if with respect to government spooks), then i see no reason why it shouldn't take.
so far, we know that MS values TPMs and other trusted hardware as a layer of protection for its software. will governments/enterprises also do so for their data?
