#238047 RE: New Wave #238043

New Wave: I don't think we are in substantial disagreement, except perhaps in my wording--which may have been off the mark--but my meaning is virtually the same as yours, despite the awkward writing and perhaps a bad metaphor.

I did not mean to disparage VSC 2.0--merely that by choosing it, Solms must have felt that was where lay the best chance to begin again. Not so sure about Wave's other products--there has to be a real good reason why they were not selling when the world was clamoring (and still is!) for better security.

I also noticed the writing in today's release was much clearer and far easier to grasp for non-techies than under the previous administration. My changes to it would have been minor--in the nit-picking category.

Part of why I welcome and cheer Bill Solms is precisely the reasons you cited. He is used to handling truly big jobs and he does not have a history of flubbing the dub.

To nit-pick your post a bit, the mobilization for Iraq was not a smooth operation and I'm not talking about the faulty WMD premise for it.

With more than 6 mos. to get ready, troops were sent overseas with inadequate armor, communications and worst of all--ammo. However, I believe the problems lay with the higher ups--Cheney and Rummy--neither of whom ever served in the military.

But overall, I'd say we are on the same page with Solms and with the expectations he can make a success of Wave--despite the monstrous problems he inherited when he picked up the CEO reins.
