My doc had to write a pre-auth letter last year for my V scrip, but not this year now that it's T2 at Aetna. I've had multiple letters written for various off-label or on label stuff over the years, but I've never actually seen the contents of one - my docs write them, sometimes with a little input from me, as I did for V - but no access to the final version, have never thought to ask to see one. Patients aren't responsible for the letters, but it really helps your doc out if you can specify reasons why you don't want or can't take L and would benefit more from V - that requires a level of medical knowledge many folks don't have, as is knowing your own body chemistry and how a drug works.
