Wow, interesting... Very "out of the box" thinking. Logistically/contractually a bit of a challenge, but I can see the merits. In my mind it's basically leasing vs owning the surgical robot technology, for other vendors to sell/distribute their various instruments. They get a piece of the market without the upfront capital requirement of either developing their own platform or buying someone elses.
