What would be an interesting play is if Titan allowed other surgical companies to develop accessories for SPORT. The other surgical company, Covidien or JNJ, still see revenue from Titan installs, Titan sells the robot, and they team up together and go head to head against ISRG. Kind of similar to how Apple keeps a much tighter control on product (ISRG) and how DROID (Titan) is much more open to collaboration. If JNJ or Covidien has a patent on something that a Titan surgeon could benefit from, that particular customer gets what they want/need while using the Titan robot and utilization and outcomes are improved. I see this all the time in the healthcare sales that i am most experienced in.
