The open-sourcing method is difficult since Titan would have less control on QA issues associated with other vendors making robotic attachments. Great thought but exceedingly difficult to implement in a device line this complex. Not to mention there are not a great deal of device types to attach to the robot.
In line with your thinking, if JnJ (or any other vendor) were to license a technology for use within Titian's systems and co-promote, then we could see some synergy movement. But at that rate JnJ might as well just wrap their big grizzly arms around Titan.
