I am responsible for govt contracting at my company- I personally registered our company with sam.gov and let me tell you- we make MILLIONS riding on the coat tails of larger fortune 500 companies who sub out their govt work to smaller vendors like us. Govt contracting yourself is a TON of work and money, being a sub for someone else is the way to do it. We are registered with sam and really have no reason to be because we still do millions in govt work and never even talk to the DOD or any of the agencies themselves. We have been a profitable business for 60 years doing this.
