The DCVax line of therapies has a 10 day window built into the trials. Patients have to be off all chemo/radiation/steroids for a minimum of 10 days before they can start their DCVax treatments mainly for the reason you stated, the immunosuppressive environment. There is some research out there though that says chemo/radiation may actually help immunotherapies because it weakens/exposes the tumor.
