What I like about this board so far is that most seem to enjoy an honest exchange of views .
I have access to 3 different Cardiologists --first at Kaiser , the second at UCSF Adult Lipid center ( where I've participated in their research since 1985) and a third Cardiologist who is a friend / client at a different hospital

None of them seem to be concerned with TG's under 400 if there are no other risk factors ( family history , high LDL etc ). They think Amarin has overstated their view that treatment is moving away from lowering LDL cholesterol to lower TG's
They remain very focused on lowering LDL cholesterol

They do agree with JL tho on the importance of lowering inflammation.
None of the 3 Cardiologist mentioned prescribe Lovaza ( One did say they would if the patient refused DS alternatives )

They maintain that ConsumerLab.com does a good job of reviewing the DS fish oils avaliable ----of the 35 tested I think 11 had problems ( in correct quantity etc ) --only one tested rancid

So the information above is presented so you know what at least some Cardiologists are thinking --- attitudes change which is why its important to watch weekly /monthly scrip figures
