SRATTY...You should demonstrate your legal ability and astute reasoning abilities by responding to posts as they are written and not by creating a straw argument. I did not suggest any conspiracy theory but a business plan. I do not know if you have ever worked as a coporate attorney, but corporations do have business plans that involve phasing in announcements and income to lead to a sustainable stock price over a period of time. And over the last 20 years, I have invested in a number of companies that had developed a busines plan that involved an ultimate sale. These business plans were not conspiracies. Many times, the sale was based on the retirement of a founder or the exit of a key shareholder. The scenario I posted would not be a conspiracy within anyone's understanding of the word. Clearly, my post was speculative and I stated it as such. Whether I would ultimately like to see a buyout would depend on the price and nature of the transaction. But as someone who owned IDCC at the time of the Motorola debacle, the price would have to be much higher than the IDCC's previous all time high.
