Any ideas whats going on with the sudden spike in volume?

There hasn't been any news on this stock in Months? Whats with the sudden interest and spike in buying? I get that there is the R/S to consider, but if the street is as negative about it as everyone here seems to think, a penny like this wouldn't have spiked like it has.

I'd also like to point out that from a purely technical standpoint, the stock appears to be headed for a reversal.
